The HCI Group Virtual EHR Training Program

Virtual EHR Training Program

What is Virtual Training?

We have developed a virtual learning opportunity for staff and physicians to receive comprehensive role based training at their facility. HCI partners with your local coaches to create a learning experience that is applicable to end users’ roles within your organization and provides a key stepping stone to gaining CME and CEU Credits.

Virtual EHR Training Program Leaders

  • Facilitator – the Certified HCI Trainer conducting the virtual training session
  • Coach – the facility contact who partners with the facilitator to provide assistance to end users
  • Participant – the employee who requires training

Program Expectations of HCI Certified Facilitator

The Enterprise Facilitator will be skilled and knowledgeable in the facility-specific EHR workflows.

  • Maintain training schedule and courses in your LMS (Learning Management System)
  • Supply classroom learning materials
  • Hosts the live virtual training session using Live Meeting
  • Collaborates with the coach to provide support during technical issues
  • Communicates with the coach during the session via headset or instant message
  • Answer questions from participants as directed by the coach

Program Expectations of Local Coach

The most important resource the local affiliate will need to provide is a knowledgeable coach to be present in the training room at all times. The coach’s responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that the participants are registered in LMS for virtual training session
  • Classroom set-up and coordination of learning materials
  • Assist participants with technical or access problems
  • Redirect questions about the material or exercises to the facilitator
  • Manages classroom breaks to ensure timely return of participants
  • Set the classroom expectations with all participants
  • Monitors the pace of the course with the facilitator to ensure knowledge transfer
  • Ensures that the participants have basic computer navigation skills
  • Presents 15 minute welcome session to familiarize new staff with the classroom
  • When multiple Live Meetings are being conducted simultaneously (e.g. Medical-Surgery RN course and ED training course), coach is required to log into both learning events and toggle between each
  • Maintain communication with facilitator, via instant message or Bluetooth headset
